As we work toward a more equitable, diverse and inclusive college environment across the state of California, we must keep the Vision for Success and the data we gather in mind. With the aim of effectively implementing equity plans across the system, the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office is hosting Pathways to Equity, a multi-part series of events that bring together staff and experts to provide guidance, share strategies, network and implement plans that lead to meaningful change for students. The series is made up of three parts: Learn. Act. Change.
Learn.
Webinar Series
Discover how to create meaningful, student centered changes at your campus.
The first part of Pathways to Equity is the “Learn” webinar series. The webinars will provide guidance and a learning environment for the community colleges on how to leverage their equity plans towards creating meaningful, student-centered changes, while providing evidence-based examples to the field. These webinars will inspire colleges to consider making bold changes to their student centered equity strategies.
Act.
Virtual Conference
Create a plan to develop equity goals with student centered design strategies.
The second part of Pathways to Equity, the “Act” virtual conference, provides the community colleges with an intimate space to communicate, collaborate, network and discuss equity successes and challenges. Attendees will see what activities and program implementations have worked for other community colleges and their unique student populations. Sessions will build a community of practice across the state that encourages active, intentional equity plans that focus on student centered design strategies and build cross-college, interdepartmental relationships.

Regional Convenings
Implement equity reforms at your college.
The third and final part of Pathways to Equity, the “Change” regional convenings, creates in-person spaces for essential equity implementation staff and students to get a first-hand view of how community colleges can work together to keep equity in action. Community college representatives will receive actionable guidance and strategies for implementing better equity environments on their campuses. The regional convenings keep staff thinking about the future of equity plans and equity goals on their campuses and how to continue building equity-minded policy.
